AHS app for iPhone
One App, Many Features
A single, comprehensive, scalable app for AHS means that Albertans will be able to find official AHS content and functionality without sorting through the hundreds of thousands of available apps. We now have one app that will contain all of our public content. We have launched the first app for the iPhone/iPad platform and will continue to add to it as we are able to provide more features. The first features available are the Calgary area emergency department wait times and a list of important contact information (e.g. HEALTHLink Alberta, PADIS, etc). We have planned similar apps for Android devices, as well as Blackberry.
Emergency Department Wait Times & Important Contacts Apps
Emergency wait times are available for the Calgary area—more wait times will become available as that service rolls out across the province. The app features a map that shows the user’s current location and the nearest emergency departments and urgent care centres along with their respective wait times. There is also a list view so that all of the locations can be seen at once—just like the website.
