Personal Care Home
A Personal Care Home provides supports and services, such as lodging, meals and personal care in a home like setting. The services provided by Personal Care Homes can differ significantly depending on the area in which you live.
If you live in a Personal Care Home, Alberta Health Services can provide care services based on an assessment by home care. A Home Care Registered Nurse* will be assigned to meet with you to discuss your needs and conduct an assessment of your abilities. If you prefer, your family can also be involved. From the information gathered, a plan of care will be developed to coordinate a range of services to meet your assessed needs.
To get more information on seniors living options or to book an assessment or get more information, contact your local Home Care Program, talk with your family doctor or call HEALTHLink Alberta Toll-Free 1-866-408-5465.
* In some parts of the province, other allied health-care professionals (i.e. physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers) also complete assessments.
