July 2009 Message

On June 30th this year Alberta Health Services closed the hospital helipads at Barrhead, Castor, Consort, Didsbury, Edmonton (Royal Alexandra Hospital), Sundre, Wainwright and Westlock based on reports that the helipads did not comply with Transport Canada regulations.

It's been one year since Health and Wellness Minister Ron Liepert announced the plan to integrate the 12 former health entities into one provincial organization: Alberta Health Services.

It has been an extremely busy fall for members of the Alberta Health Services Board and executive team, as the restructuring of the province's health system continues to roll out.
