Salary and Benefit Highlights
Salary
$32.34 - $42.45 per hour (as of April 1, 2009) as per UNA collective agreement
Hours of Work
7.75 hours per day or 11.08 hours per day
Note: Full-time RNs work 19 - 7.75 hrs shifts/4wks
Overtime
Two times basic rate
Shift Differential
As per UNA collective agreement.
Education Allowance
Offered by bona fide post secondary educational institution for position held (not cumulative) per hour above base rate.
- Baccalaureate degree $1.25
- Master's degree $1.50
- Doctorate $1.75
- Clinical course (including mid-wife course for some positions, see collective agreement) $0.50
- Active registration in CARNA plus diploma in Psychiatric Nursing $0.50
- Course in Nursing Unit Administration $0.50
- One year diploma $0.50
Market Condition Lump Sum
Cost of living lump-sum payment prorated based on regular hours worked and paid semi-annually in October and April.
Retention Recognition
Two per cent special long service pay adjustment - 20 plus years as RN.

- 1st year - 15 working days per year
- 2nd to 9th years - 20 working days per year
- 10th to 19th years - 25 working days per year
- Supplementary vacation - additional five days for the 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, and 40th anniversaries
