John Lehners was born, raised, educated, and works in Grande Prairie. He is currently a partner in Bearisto, Lehners, Ketchum Engineering Ltd. and is chair of the Grande Prairie Public School District.

Mr. Lehners' post-secondary education includes completing studies at the universities of Alberta and Calgary. In 1986, he graduated with a bachelor of science degree majoring in civil engineering from the University of Alberta.

Mr. Lehners has served as the chair of Peace River Branch of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta and as a member of the executive of his local Rotary Club. He and his wife, Orleen, are the proud parents of two children, Adam and Analise.

John maintains an active lifestyle. In his free time, he enjoys hockey, fastball, and running, having competed in a variety of endurance events such as marathons and adventure racing.
