James Clifford, New Jersey, Member

One-year term. Executive Consultant to WPP companies, MJM, Sudler and four other health care entities. Former Group Company Chairman of WPP's CommonHealth. University of Alberta alumnus

James Clifford joins the Alberta Health Services Board with broad experience in health care management, patient education and integrated health care organizations.

Currently a New Jersey resident, Mr. Clifford is an alumnus of the University of Alberta, graduating with a BS in Chemistry.

Since, Mr. Clifford has gained extensive experience in health care. From 1980-2006, Mr. Clifford held many positions within CommonHealth, the largest health care communications group in the United States. He worked for them three different times holding positions including group company chairman, executive vice-president and chief operating officer.

Additionally, Mr. Clifford was president of HLS and HLS Clinical systems, when they developed a scientific and medically-oriented team to execute studies in partnership with The American Board of Family Medicine.

Mr. Clifford was also executive vice president, COO, of the 15 centre rehabilitation division of HCR Manor Healthcare Corporation.

Most recently, Mr. Clifford has been a consultant for WPP companies, CommonHealth, Sudler and MJM. He is also currently consults for four additional health care centered entities in Canada and the United States.
