Going for Gold

After finishing the round robin in first place with a record of 8-1, Alberta Health Services employee Susan O’Connor and her curling teammates skipped by Cheryl Bernard has taken the 2010 Olympic silver medal for women's curling.  

Final score was 7-6 in favour of Sweden.

Alberta Health Services wishes employee Susan O’Connor and her Canadian teammates all the best as they attempt to win Olympic gold in women’s curling February 26 at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Susan, a respiratory therapist based at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, plays third for Cheryl Bernard’s rink, which includes lead Cori Bartel and second Carolyn Darbyshire. 

They play Sweden in the gold-medal game, which begins at 4 p.m MST. The Canadian rink won the berth in the final February 25 following a 6-5 win over Switzerland in a semifinal.
